Step 5: Park Your Trailer and Load Your Refuse

Once you’ve picked up the trailer, follow these steps:

  1. Park the Trailer Safely: Park the trailer in a secure and legal location, ensuring it’s not obstructing traffic or parked in a restricted area.
  2. Open the Trailer Doors: Open the rear doors or side gates of the trailer to access the loading area.
  3. Load Your Refuse: Carefully load your refuse into the trailer, ensuring it’s distributed evenly and doesn’t exceed the trailer’s weight capacity. Avoid overloading the trailer, as it can lead to damage or safety hazards.
  4. Secure the Load: If necessary, use straps or tarps to secure the load and prevent it from shifting during transportation.

Remember to follow any local regulations or guidelines regarding waste disposal and transportation.

Step 6: Dump Your Waste

Before returning the trailer, you’ll need to dispose of the waste you’ve loaded inside. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Locate a Dump Site: Find a nearby Dump site or landfill that accepts the type of waste you have. You can usually find this information online or by contacting your local waste management authority.
  2. Pay the Dump Fee: Most Dump sites charge a fee based on the amount of waste you’re disposing of. Be prepared to pay the required fee.
  3. Dump Your Waste: Follow the instructions at the Dump site to unload your waste into the designated area. Make sure to separate recyclable materials if applicable.

Remember to follow the Dump site’s rules and regulations to ensure a safe and proper disposal.

Step 7: Ensure the Trailer is Empty and Clean

Before returning the trailer, make sure it’s in the same condition as when you picked it up, except for normal wear and tear. This includes:

  • Emptying the Trailer: Ensure all waste has been removed from the trailer.
  • Cleaning the Trailer: Sweep or mop the floor of the trailer to remove any debris or spills.
  • Inspecting for Damage: Check the trailer for any new damage that may have occurred during your rental period.

If you notice any damage, report it to the rental company immediately.
